The Play hub runs the same puzzle engines that build PuzzForge’s printable sheets, except the result stays on screen. Pick a type and a level, and a fresh puzzle is constructed in your browser — the words, the grid and the solution all at once. Nothing is fetched from a library of pre-made puzzles, which is why you can press “Next puzzle” as many times as you like and keep getting new ones.
Each game keeps a timer, gives you three hints, and can be paused, restarted, or picked apart square by square. When you finish, the result screen shows what the game actually measured: your time, how many hints you spent, and — for the puzzles where a wrong move exists — how accurate you were. A maze reports how direct your route was instead, since walking into a wall is not a wrong answer.
Easy, medium and hard change real things: the size of the grid, how many words or clues there are, and how common the vocabulary is. The words and clues come from the same reviewed dictionary the crossword generator uses, so a hard puzzle is harder because the puzzle is harder, not because something was made obscure on purpose.
And playing is only half of it. Every type here has a generator behind it: put in your own spelling list, your own clues or your own quiz questions, then print the sheet, export a PDF, or send somebody a link they can play without an account.
Questions
What puzzles can I play online?
Nine types: word search, crossword, pro crossword, sudoku, maze, word scramble, missing letters, cryptogram and a vocabulary quiz. Each one has easy, medium and hard settings, and a new puzzle is built every time you press Play.
Are PuzzForge puzzles free to play?
Yes. Playing in the browser is free and has no limit — no locked levels and nothing to unlock. Premium is focused on printable creation, including attribution-free exports, your own branding and advanced styling.
Can I play puzzles on mobile?
Yes. Word search is solved by dragging across the letters, mazes by tracing with a finger, and the crossword and sudoku use the phone keyboard and an on-screen pad. The layout adapts down to small phone screens.
Can I create my own puzzle?
Yes — that is the other half of PuzzForge. Every playable type has a generator where you supply your own words, clues or questions, then print it, download it as a PDF, or share it as a link somebody else can play.
Do I need an account to play?
No. Nothing on the Play hub asks you to sign in. Your best time for a puzzle is kept in your own browser and is never uploaded, so clearing your browser data clears it too.
